I just tried Hexen with Vavoom and first thing i noticed there is that quickinfo about mana and health is positioned at screen's bottom. Actually, I suppose, it is not very convinient. But since there can be people, who like it, I may propose you make a customizable stats position on the game screen. Secondly, I think that automap colors in Hexen should be more contrasting. I can barely see walls on background. And at last, I suppose, maybe you should define a smaller font for the console, since it can contain only few lines of text.

The automap colors can actually be changed via console commands, the console commands for this are:

am_color_cdwall - "r g b" 
am_color_fdwall - "r g b" 
am_color_grid - "r g b" 
am_color_player - "r g b" 
am_color_power - "r g b" 
am_color_secretwall - "r g b" 
am_color_thing - "r g b" 
am_color_tswall - "r g b" 
am_color_wall - "r g b"

Where:
r = Red color Amount
g = Green color Amount
b = Blue color Amount
